The Single In-race WETiT teat sprayer was invented by David Carey in 1993 and entered in the Inventions Awards at the NZ National Fieldays in June 1994 winning an Award of Merit.
In 1995 the Hi-flow teat sprayer was added to the product range, a double race unit designed for herringbone sheds.
In 1996-1997 the air pressure system was developed, perfected and launched. This innovation won an award at the South Island Fieldays. The high maintenance pumping component was thus eliminated which reduced many headaches and warranty costs.
In 1998 dairy farmer friends approached David about inventing a system of teat spraying cows while they were still standing on the rotary platform. The concept of the 'Platform Magic' was born. This product, with all it's enhancements is more consistent than a person.
In June 2000 Platform Magic was launched. It was greatly received and by the following year was our No.1 seller. This product won an award at the Southern Fieldays. The draft alarm also became a popular new feature year.
The UWETiT manual pressure spray system was launched in June 2001 which completed the range of teat sprayers along with the many accessories which complement the systems.
WETiT now have a teat spraying system for everyone.
2002 - 2003 saw the release of SWATiT - auto fly sprayer along with various other accessories, a total seven new features during that time.
The WETiT Wave was released in 2004 at the National Field Days. This year is also when we began our launch into the Australian Market.
2005 saw the development of further ‘add-on’ accessories for both the Platform Magic and In-Race teat sprayers. These include the muck monitor, remote drafting system, and promotion of Cups-on-Detection and No-Spray controller.
In 2006 we began to establish a relationship with Dairy Spares Ltd in the UK.
2007-2008 was an extremely busy period for Electro Ease, and everyone in the dairy industry. Record high payout figures saw orders for teat sprayers and WETiT Waves coming in at a rate which was barely manageable. Additional new full and part time staff were taken on to cope with the rate of production required just to meet the orders.
By mid 2009 we had two contractors in the south island and one in the north island working exclusively for WETiT. We entered the Franklin & Papakura Business Excellence Awards, coming away with two awards, Excellence in Innovation and the Supreme Overall Business of the Year.
